Celine Dion To Get Millions for Performing at Olympics Opening Ceremony
Spending on the Olympics knows no bounds. In Olympic news about Friday’s Opening Ceremonies in Paris, TMZ reported that Celine Dion at the 2024 Olympics will perform one song. She will receive $2 million for that effort.
That’s $2 million for one song. This will be her first performance since doctors diagnosed her with “Stiff Person Syndrome” in 2022. That illness forced her to stop touring.
Celine Dion at the 2024 Olympics is no stranger to Olympic performances. In 1996, she sang “The Power of the Dream” at the Atlanta Summer Olympics.
She also voiced a video for Canadian Olympians called “L’invincible courage” along with Michael J. Fox.
Dion arrived in Paris and is staying at the same place as Lady Gaga, another entertainer believed to be involved in the Opening Ceremonies.
This one is hard to believe unless you understand how much sway NBC Sports carries with the IOC. Somehow, Snoop Dogg will be one of the entertainers carrying the Olympic torch before it is, um, lit.
There certainly won’t be Olympic betting odds on whether Snoop Dogg uses the Olympic torch to light something up that he loves to engage in.

Spending money isn’t the only way the Olympic Games are expanding. The IOC decided to include ESports in future games. That will be a great way to bump sports betting odds and interest in the event for the younger set.

The IOC voted to officially create the Esports Olympics at its 142nd session on Tuesday. The first event will take place next year in Saudi Arabia.
“This is truly a new era for the IOC” IOC President Thomas Bach said. “With the IOC Session confirming the creation of the Olympic Esports Games, we are keeping up with the pace of the digital revolution. The esports community, represented in our Esports Commission, has enthusiastically engaged with this initiative.
“This is further proof of the attractivity of the Olympic brand and the values it stands for among young people. The NOC of Saudi Arabia will bring great – if not unique – experience in the field of esports to this project. This partnership is based on the Olympic Charter and the Olympic values.”
Celine Dion at the 2024 Olympics will be a highlight, showcasing the blend of music and sports on a global stage.
