WWE Mens Money In The Bank Winner Will Come as No Surprise

Jey Uso is a +150 favorite to win the MITB, LA Knight is a close second at +250

The WWE schedule is always packed with massive events with this month being no exception. The 15th annual Money In The Bank Promotion emanates from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada starting at 6:30 p.m. EST/3:30 p.m. PST Saturday on the Peacock Network. The main card will begin at 7:00 p.m. EST / 4:00 p.m. PST.

This will be the first MITB event held in Canada and the second straight outside the United States. The winner of the MITB ladder match will have one year to cash in their championship contract on the current champion at any time.

  • This year’s men’s MITB features Jey Uso (+150), Carmelo Hayes (+700), Andrade (+700), Chad Gable (+300), LA Knight (+250), and Drew McIntyre (+250).

Let’s analyze who we think are the top three contenders for the 2024 Men’s Money In The Bank contract.

A Jey Uso Win Makes The Most Sense

When betting on the Men’s Money In The Bank result, you can automatically eliminate three names, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, and Chad Gable. Although all three have positive qualities, none of the trio will carry a compelling storyline against Cody Rhodes, the current WWE and Universal Champion.

When placing your money behind a wrestler, it’s important to ask yourself what makes the most business sense and where is the men’s division right now. Is it time for a new champion and if so what will make the best storyline? Unfortunately, we don’t see how any of the three wrestlers we drew a line through would bring a compelling story.

That leaves us with Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso, and LA Knight. McIntyre just signed a new deal but has become less of a fan favorite despite being the chosen one early on in his career LA Knight is a definite fan favorite but it doesn’t look like the WWE is ready to hand the reigns over to him just yet.

Jey Uso is the logical choice considering Rhodes and Uso have been tag team champions on Raw and Smackdown and seem to work well together. You can’t ignore the fact that Uso is the only wrestler featured on the ad mat. It’s not like the WWE to feature a single performer and then have him lose.

This isn’t a slam dunk prediction because the reality is, we don’t know how compelling an USO / Rhodes run would be for the very reasons we’ve listed, we’ve seen them in the ring before but there isn’t a clear storyline direction for another wrestler. We’ll make our prediction early, Jey Uso wins the Men’s Money in the Bank.

WWE Has To Push Knight at Some Point

There was a point when the fans said yes to LA Knight, and it certainly wasn’t when he was part of Maximum Male Models, a gimmick that he squashed immediately.

Knight is a throwback to the ‘Attitude Era’, something the fans have been calling for again and may get with the new Netflix deal. Knight’s mic work screams shades of Rock and Stone Cold, with his flair and personality mixed in. This gave WWE fans something they’ve been starving for since Linda McMahon decided to run for political office in 2009. It’s been PG City ever since.

However, no matter how loudly the fans have voiced their opinions, Knight is a performer the promotion just has not pulled the trigger on, meaning he has not carried a belt yet. No, the Million Dollar Championship won in 2021 while in NXT doesn’t count.

It’s been over two years since his return to the main roster and while he has two Slammys to his credit, it seems the WWE is happy to have him right where he is.

  • If you don’t want to back the favorite perhaps LA Knight with a +250 WWE betting line should be your next choice because at he’s the only one who seems to be without a storyline to fall back on.

McIntyre / Punk Clears Up Confusion

The WWE set the McIntyre / CM Punk feud up perfectly and I don’t think the WWE is going to tear a year’s worth of groundwork down to have the Scottish Warrior refocus his energy on Cody Rhodes, Damien Priest, Seth Rollins, or Gunther.

We anticipate they’ll use MITB to further the Punk/McIntyre feud, like having Punk cost McIntyre the briefcase at some point in the match. We don’t think anything will have to be on the line when McIntyre and Punk finally get in the ring.

  • Even with McIntyre listed at +250, there’s no chance that the 39-year-old get our support after the WWE finally found a way to get his character over as hovering in the deep end for most of his recent run.
  • Chad Gable at +300 would be a better choice if you’re looking for a long-shot WWE bet.
