England have been among the most frustrating teams to watch at Euro 2024 thus far. In both of their matches they’ve taken leads and have looked unsure once they go up 1-0. Against Serbia, in their opener, England’s Jude Bellingham scored the game’s only goal as the Three Lions had to stave off Serbian attacks for the better part of an hour.
In the second match, Harry Kane put England (-154 favorites) ahead versus Denmark and things subsequently fell apart. Kane admitted England players are unsure of their pressing responsibilities and it certainly showed. Denmark gained a foothold in the match, equalized, and looked like the more likely team to go ahead.
The match finished 1-1 and Gareth Southgate’s tactics were heavily questioned following the draw. At +350 opening odds to win Euro 2024, England were the favorites and one of the most popular soccer picks. They’ve looked vulnerable, however, and the Trent Alexander-Arnold experiment in midfield hasn’t been working.
Southgate may look to Conor Gallagher to shore things up in the group stage finale. Bettors should note that England have won just two of their last seven matches. Still, the Three Lions haven’t lost a group stage game at the Euros since 2004. While still tipped to go far on plenty of UEFA Euro brackets, we’d proceed with caution when betting on England.

Slovenia Looking to Make History
Surprisingly, Slovenia have been one of the best soccer bets today at the Euros. They’ve covered the spread in consecutive matches and have picked up two draws to open up their campaign. If Slovenia manage to grab all three points here, it’d be their most important win in team history. They’ve never qualified for a knockout stage at a major tournament and this is their fourth attempt.
Plus, they are winless in five Euros games. Slovenia did, however, come close to tasting victory last Thursday when they took on Serbia. Zan Karnicnik started, and finished, a superb move from right back to put Slovenia ahead in the 69th minute. Serbia managed to grab the latest equalizer in Euros history to grab a 1-1 draw, though. Slovenia’s match against Denmark also finished 1-1.
It’s possible that Slovenia can draw here and go through, but it depends on how other results unfold. Slovenia have an exceptional and experienced goalkeeper in Jan Oblak. Plus, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko has looked dangerous when given space and he’s fond of long range strikes.

Even though England have looked poor at times, the England vs Slovenia Euro odds price them as -300 favorites for Tuesday’s match. Each of the last three meetings between these sides have been decided by one goal or have finished in a draw. So, Slovenia +1.5 at -135 odds doesn’t come as a surprise.
Slovenia are unbeaten in 2024, which includes victories over the USA and Portugal. They shouldn’t be underestimated and some may fancy throwing a couple bucks on their +900 moneyline. A draw isn’t ideal for England, but it is enough to go through, and it displays +375 odds.
