Scheffler Seeking Redemption at Travelers

2024 Travelers Championship Odds

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy headline the 2024 Travelers Championship odds, and they seek redemption following the U.S. Open.

Scheffler played terribly at Pinehurst, making the cut on the number, and McIlroy choked the win away over the last three holes.

However, they can right their wrongs at the Travelers, and we have our best PGA Tour golf picks.

Date: June 20–23, 2024
Course: TPC River Highlands
Purse: $20,000,000

No Excuses for Scheffler

There has been an influx of excuses made for Scheffler’s U.S. Open performance. However, that’s golf.

It’s not an easy sport to win consistently, and he was due a poor performance. They’re talking of changing the scheduling, simply because Scheffler played poorly.

Regardless of that idiocy, we’re sticking with Scheffler to bounce back on the PGA Tour and win the Travelers Championship.

His golf odds of +350 are worth taking, and that’s a better price than the +290 being offered last week, and this is an easier tournament.

There are no LIV players in the field, including Bryson DeChambeau, so that should give Scheffler every chance to get back on the horse.

It’s about the best PGA Championship odds you’ll get for Scheffler, and there won’t be any excuses for a poor showing.

The Mindset of McIlroy

McIlroy is the +700 second favorite with 2024 Travelers Championship odds, but his mindset comes into question.

There’s no doubt that he’s one of the best players in the world, but he choked at Pinehurst, and teeing it up only days later won’t be easy.

However, he’s a professional, and there is big money at stake, so he’s a good winning chance.

The Northern Irishman is trying to keep a positive mindset.

“[Sunday] was a tough day, probably the toughest I’ve had in my nearly 17 years as a professional golfer,” McIlroy said. “As I reflect on my week I will rue a few things over the course of the tournament, mostly the two missed putts on 16 and 18 on the final day.

“As I always try to do, I’ll look at the positives of the week that far outweigh the negatives.”

He is worth including at the current odds, and he’s rarely too far away from the mark.

Best Value with Aberg

The best value with the 2024 Travelers Championship odds is with Ludvig Aberg, who showed his skills at Pinehurst.

The Swedish golfer made a triple bogey on Saturday and Sunday, which ended his chances of winning. However, he was right in the mix, and we like the way he battled back following those terrible scores.

He is one of the brightest stars on the PGA Tour, having already won, and also contested in multiple majors, so the future is bright.

Bettors get +1600 odds for the 2023 RSM Classic winner, who owns two top 25 finishes from three major attempts.

His injury worry is seemingly behind him, and we expected his odds to be around +1100. Therefore, take the value with the player who is brimming with confidence.

Patrick Cantlay Can Play

It was an improved performance from Patrick Cantlay at the U.S. Open, and it was much needed.

The American had been struggling with his form for over a year, and it was his best finish in a major by some margin.

Surprisingly, he had never contested for the win on Sunday, so it was new territory for the 32-year-old.

Known as one of the slowest players on the PGA Tour, we think it would benefit Cantlay to speed up a bit. There is no adrenaline running through his body, and we would love to see that spark return.

Despite being one of the most disliked players on the tour, Cantlay is worth including in golf picks. He’s back in form, and getting +2200 for someone of his quality is too good to overlook.

Based on his Pinehurst performance, we expect money to come for him throughout the week.

Important Week for Bradley

Keegan Bradley isn’t the easiest golfer to follow, but he usually plays well this time of the year.

He is the defending Travelers Championship winner, having won by three strokes over Zac Blair and Brian Harman last year.

There is more depth to this field after it got upgraded to a signature event, but Bradley is good enough to beat the best in the world.

He’s a six-time PGA Tour winner, including the 2011 PGA Championship. That was a long time ago, but his 2024 results in majors speak volumes.

He recorded a T22 at The Masters, T18 at the PGA, and T32 last week. That’s good enough form to see him defending his title at odds of +4000.
