Young Set to Blast Off at Rocket Mortgage Classic

Best Bets at the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic Odds

Cameron Young is our top pick to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and finally get the monkey off his back. He has a +1400 chance with 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic odds, and it would be his first PGA Tour win.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Current favorite Tom Kim lost to Scottie Scheffler in a playoff last week, and he’s expected to be near the top of the PGA leaderboard.

The Time is Now for Young

The Rocket Mortgage Classic isn’t a signature event, so the world’s best players aren’t teeing it up. That leaves the door open for the likes of Young, who has excellent results in majors. But he’s yet to win a PGA Tour event.

The 27-year-old is a former Rookie of the Year winner, and he comes off a T9 finish at the Travelers Championship behind Scheffler.

The frustration is building for Young, who has five top-10 finishes at the majors. He finished second at the 2022 Open Championship and he also posted a T3 finish at the PGA Championship.

Young shot 59 at the Travelers Championship, and a super-low round could spark him into action.

“I can’t say I was expecting it,” Young said. “I’ve been playing better than the results have shown. Waking up this morning, I wasn’t really thinking I’m going to be 5 under through four. It was a lot of fun to do.”

Getting +1400 with 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic odds is worth taking, and we’re happy to back the American on a consistent basis.

Kim a Worthy Favorite Following Playoff Loss

Tom Kim is the +1200 favorite following a playoff loss to Scheffler last week. It was a tough loss for him as he searched for his fifth PGA Tour win at just 21 years of age.

There is a lot of talk about Scheffler’s accolades, but owning four wins at such a young age can’t be overlooked.

It’s good to see the Rocket Mortgage Classic on his golf schedule. Too many of the world’s best players skip these events for the bigger money events, but Kim is seeking more wins. Taking +1200 is a touch short of great value, but we expect Kim to be fighting out the finish. He’s playing good golf, and there is no Scheffler in this event, so he could kick clear for an easy victory.

“I’m going to definitely look at this week as a positive,” Kim said. “I had so much fun out there, felt like a practice round with (Scheffler).

“It’s just nice to know that the hard work kind of really does come to life. Like, yes, it would have been super sweet if I won, but it still doesn’t change who I am.”

Backing Bhatia with Confidence

Akshay Bhatia is another golfer coming off a top-10 finish at the Travelers, and he’s rising in the world golf rankings. The 22-year-old is already a PGA Tour winner, and after five years on the PGA Tour, he’s now realizing his potential.

He finished T5 last week after finishing four shots behind, and he should take plenty of encouragement from that effort.

The two-time PGA Tour winner, with wins in the 2023 Barracuda Championship and 2024 Valero Texas Open, is easily good enough to beat this field.

Both wins came via a playoff, so he’s clutch, and we expect him to play well again at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

  • Bettors get +2200 for Bhatia, and he should be backed with confidence.

Don’t Fall Foul of Fowler

Rickie Fowler might be a tough golfer to follow, but he showed improvement last week.

The 35-year-old, who has struggled with his swing for years, still has enough ability to win golf tournaments, especially when the best players are missing.

The six-time PGA Tour winner won the Rocket Mortgage Classic last year, which ended a four-year drought.

He has good memories in this tournament, and he shot -24 to win. That’s a great sign, and we’re happy with his 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic odds.

  • Bettors can take +4000 for Fowler, so he’s worth including in golf picks.
