The Aces didn’t start the season well, but they’re practically at full health. They’re clicking now.

Meanwhile, the Fever struggled to begin the season, too. In Caitlin Clark’s first season in the WNBA, it took multiple games for the Fever to even win one game. However, they’re now 8-12 and have won three of their last five, including a road victory against the Phoenix Mercury last time out.

Despite that win, the Fever are still 13.5-point underdogs in tonight’s game. Meanwhile, the total is at 175.5.

Fever vs Aces WNBA Preview & Trends

The Aces have defeated the Fever in ten consecutive games. However, the spread has been much closer. The Aces have covered six of their last ten games against the Fever dating back to 2021.

However, this season, the Fever are 10-8 against the spread, and the Aces are 5-9. The Fever have added some profit while the Aces haven’t.

Indiana has also hit the Over in 14 of 18 games this year. The Aces have notched the Over in eight of 14 games this season.

Fever is 3-7 on the road, while the Aces are 5-4 at home.

Indiana Goes 7-4 In June

It took some time for Caitlin Clark and the Fever to adapt to the WNBA. But Clark and the Fever are competing right now. They finished June 7-4 and are getting closer to solidifying a WNBA Playoffs berth.

That win against Phoenix was Indiana’s first win over a team with a winning record. They’ll look to continue that momentum in tonight’s game against the Aces, who are also above .500. This is one of four WNBA games today.

Kate Martin vs Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark gets to play against her former Iowa teammate in Las Vegas.

Kate Martin will see Caitlin Clark for the second time on the opposite sideline. Clark and Martin starred at Iowa to earn back-to-back National Championship appearances. Those two became very close, and women’s basketball fans have loved their relationship from the start.

It should be fun to see those two meet up again in our Fever vs Aces WNBA preview.

The Aces Are Back To Elite

The Las Vegas Aces lead the WNBA in points per game and possessions per 40 minutes. They’ve added .98 points per play, scored 48% of their points from inside the arc, and have the highest free-throw rate in the league.

In addition, Las Vegas has added 1.13 points per scoring attempt and have shot an effective field goal percentage of 51.5%.

Ultimately, offense was never the problem. It was the defense. Las Vegas has defended the two-point shot well, holding teams to 47% from inside the arc. However, opponents have shot 38.8% from downtown and have also shot an effective field goal percentage of 50.7%.

That’s not good.

Aces Look to Extend Dominant Stretch Against Struggling Fever

However, the Aces have already held the Fever to 80 points earlier this season at home and have allowed no more than 83 points in four consecutive games. In those last four games, the Aces have won all of them and scored at least 85 points while holding each team to no more than 83 points.

Las Vegas’ margin of victory in its last four games has been by at least nine in every game.

The Aces should have no trouble scoring against the Fever. After all, the Fever have allowed opponents to shoot a 50.9% effective field goal percentage and have allowed .96 points per play. They have some of the worst defensive statistics in the WNBA and are going up against the Aces, who have some of the best offensive statistics in the WNBA.

It’ll come down to the Aces’ defense against the Fever.

The Fever are good offensively, scoring 81.1 points per game this season. However, they’ve still allowed a margin of -6.4 per 100 possessions and have only shot 76.8% from the free-throw line this season. On the road, don’t expect the Fever to keep up.

Let’s back the Aces at -13.5 in our Fever vs Aces WNBA preview.
