First in the West Minnesota Lynx Host Struggling Dallas Wings

Wings vs Lynx Preview Have a Double-Digit Spread

No Wings vs Lynx preview is complete without looking at the game odds and analyzing the best bets. The odds are in and the Dallas Wings are +10.5 on the road against the Minnesota Lynx. The Lynx are -455 favorites to win the game, and the Wings are +350 underdogs. The total is set at 165.5.

The Lynx are currently the number one seed in the Western Conference and the third overall seed in the league. They are on a three-game winning streak and are 10-3 overall this season. They are led by a talented roster that includes MVP candidate Napheesa Collier (currently +850 to win the award), Kayla McBride, and Courtney Williams.

Collier leads the team in points averaging 21.5 points per game (fourth highest in the league) and rebounds with 10.5 per game (third in the league). McBride is averaging 17 points per game and Williams leads the team in assists with 5.7 per game (seventh highest in the league).

The Wings sit in last place in the Western Conference WNBA standings with a 3-9 record. They are 11th in league standings.  They have lost seven straight games and will have a tough time ending that streak against the favored Lynx.

Dallas is led in scoring and assists by Arike Ogunbowale, who is averaging 24.9 points per game and 5.4 assists. She is second in the league in scoring. Teaira McCowan leads the team in rebounding with nine per game, a number that puts her at eighth in the league.

Collier’s Strong Game

The Lynx’s last game was against the Los Angeles Sparks. They won the game 81-76, failing to cover the large -12.5 point spread, but getting their third win in a row. Once again, Collier was the high scorer for the Lynx, with a powerful 30-point performance in 37 minutes of playing time. Bridget Carleton, Alanna Smith, and Courtney Williams all chipped in double-digit scoring performances as well. Williams had a double-double with 10 assists and eight rebounds in the game.

Sun Was Too Bright

In the Wing’s last game, they were blown out 85-67 by the Connecticut Sun. This marked their seventh straight loss. They were unable to get big scoring from their star Ogunbowale who had 11 points in the game. McCowan and Maddy Siegrist each had 16 points, and McCowan chipped in 10 rebounds as well. These performances were not nearly enough to take on a strong Sun team, and the game was never really that close.

Take the Lynx to Win

Per Wings vs Lynx previews, the Lynx are bound to give the Wings their eighth straight loss, and at -455 we love the money line for this game. In their last five games, the Lynx are 4-1 overall, 3-2 against the spread (ATS), and 1-4 on over/under totals. The Wings are 0-5 straight up, 0-5 ATS, and 3-2 on totals. Taking the Lynx spread is likely not a terrible bet either, but we feel that the money line is a much safer bet for your WNBA betting.

The last time these two teams played, the Lynx won by 11 in an 87-76 Commissioner’s Cup match. The Wings were led in scoring by Ogunbowale, who put in 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Monique Billings also had a big game for the Wings, scoring 19 points and grabbing a game-high 15 boards. Those strong performances were not enough to handle big scoring nights from the Lynx’s Collier and McBride, who put in 24 points and 25 points each. Collier also added 14 rebounds to the stat sheet.

The game was close into the first half, but a strong fourth quarter by the Lynx provided the separation they needed to get the win. The Lynx held the Wings scoreless for nearly five minutes in the fourth quarter, proving their defensive dominance. Minnesota covered the -6.5 point spread and the game went over the 162.5 point total.
