Karl-Anthony Towns Next Team Odds

Pelicans Favored if Star Leaves Minnesota

The Karl-Anthony Towns trade rumors are picking up steam should Minnesota decide to move on. The team is about to hit some salary cap problems and shedding Towns and his 4-year, $221 million contract extension would help in that regard. The Timberwolves have Rudy Gobert at center, which adds to the possibility of Towns being on the move.

The 7-foot Towns can score from all over the court, although his rim defense can be a bit shaky. If the Timberwolves decide to trade Towns, there will be no shortage of suitors.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

The Karl-Anthony Towns next team odds are valid only if he moves on from Minnesota. The Timberwolves may elect to keep him and move somebody else or even stay pat. That’s going to be the big challenge for the front office this offseason.

Towns averaged 21.8 points and 8.3 rebounds during the NBA regular season in 2023-24. He shot 50.4% from the field and a solid 41.6% from 3-point range.

For his career, Towns is a 52.4% shooter and 39.8% from 3-point range. There are plenty of NBA teams who could use those numbers.

Karl-Anthony Towns Next Team Odds

Pelicans logo New Orleans Pelicans +300

The New Orleans Pelicans are favored to land Towns if he’s traded and it makes sense. Brandon Ingram would likely be going the other way and he’s also involved in the trade rumor mill.

Three-team trades with Ingram going to the third team and the Pelicans getting Towns are also being tossed about. Minor pieces could be added to come up with a workable plan.

Magic logo Orlando Magic +400

The Orlando Magic are the second choice in the Karl-Anthony Towns next team odds and they probably make the most sense. Orlando is a solid young team that has the cap space if they want to spend it.

The Magic also don’t have anybody in the middle as good as Towns, so he would make them a better team. Orlando is an NBA team on the rise and getting KAT would take the team up a notch.

Orlando’s first-round pick (No. 18) would be in play, as well as a player or two. Wendell Carter Jr. or Cole Anthony would be potential NBA trade target for the Timberwolves.

Thunder logo Oklahoma City Thunder +500

Oklahoma City is another team that could make a run for KAT, although it doesn’t make a lot of sense. The Thunder are going to have serious cap issues in several years with Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

It would help the Thunder for several years, but then become an issue that needed to be addressed. There’s also the matter of Minnesota not wanting to trade Towns to a divisional rival.

Kings logo Sacramento Kings +700

Sacramento is an interesting possibility, although the team isn’t known for its spending habits. Still, bringing in an NBA player like Towns would make Sacramento that much harder to play against.

It’s possible and a bit logical, although there are some reasons why it’s unlikely to occur. The Karl-Anthony Towns next team odds on Sacramento are probably a shade on the low side.

Warriors logo Golden State Warriors +800

The Warriors will probably be looking to make one more big championship push with their veterans and adding Towns would boost their chances.

Rumors are the Warriors are looking to add a big piece over the summer and Towns certainly fits the bill. He would be a valuable addition for a Golden State team looking for that final title push with an aging squad.
