The Aces Don’t Want To Fall To .500 Tonight

Lynx vs Aces WNBA Lines: Both Teams Can Score At Will

The Las Vegas Aces have won back-to-back championships. They’ve also got four players joining Team USA in the Olympics. Yet, one more loss and the Aces would find themselves at .500. They’re only 5-4 on the year and have lost three of their last four games heading into a bout against the Minnesota Lynx tonight.

Meanwhile, the Lynx are 8-3 this season. They’ve outperformed the Aces and have won four of their last five games. However, in an earlier meeting in Minnesota, Las Vegas added an 80-66 win.

Lynx vs Aces WNBA Lines & Trends

The Aces have underperformed this season. While they’re 5-4 straight up, Las Vegas is just 3-6 against the spread. Still, the Aces have hit the over in five of nine games this season.

On the other hand, the Lynx are 8-3 straight up but also 9-2 against the spread (ATS). They’ve hit the under one more time than the over this year.

Head-to-head, the Aces are 9-1 straight up in the last ten games against the Lynx. They’ve also won ATS in seven of ten meetings, including the game played on May 29. The Aces were four-point favorites on the WNBA betting lines that day and earned a 14-point win on the road. Meanwhile, the under 169 hit in that game.

Napheesa Collier Will Make 2024 US Olympic Team

Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve is leading Team USA in the Summer Games this season. In addition to 11 amazing athletes, she’ll also coach one of her own.

Napheesa Collier will get the chance to shine on Team USA after an amazing start to the season with the Lynx. Collier leads the Lynx with 21.54 points per game and has added 11.4 rebounds.

She’ll join a star-studded group that doesn’t include Caitlin Clark.

Kate Martin’s First WNBA Start

On Sunday, Caitlin Clark’s former Iowa teammate, Kate Martin, got her first start with the Las Vegas Aces. The Aces lost to the Los Angeles Sparks on the road, 96-92. However, Martin played 32 minutes and scored 13 points on 5-for-7 from the field.

Martin drilled all three-point attempts and also added four rebounds and three assists.

She started instead of Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray, who could not play in that one. While Young will likely be back, Gray won’t be. Martin should still get plenty of minutes in tonight’s ball game.

Keep that in mind when looking at the Lynx vs Aces WNBA lines.

What a Turnaround For Minnesota

The Minnesota Lynx went from scoring 80.2 points per game last season to adding 85.5 points per game this season. They’ve added 102 points per 100 possessions and a 45.4% field goal percentage, which is the best in the WNBA.

Minnesota has drilled an effective field goal percentage of 53.2% and added 1.13 points per scoring attempt, which are all top offensive numbers in the WNBA.

However, the Lynx are weak at getting to the foul line and rarely add a large sum of points from the charity stripe this season. Instead, they’re first in percentage of points from three and third in percentage points from two.

On the other hand, the Las Vegas Aces aren’t far behind offensively. They’ve got some of the best offensive talent in the league.

The Aces have scored 85.7 points per game and have added 84.6 possessions per 40 minutes. That’s the best rate in the WNBA. Meanwhile, the Aces have only shot a field goal percentage of 41.8% but have added 85.1% from the foul line and get there more frequently than the Lynx.

Additionally, the Aces have scored .94 points per play, which is second-best in the WNBA.

Ultimately, the Lynx have played better defense overall. They’ve held teams to a 39.2% field goal percentage. Still, the Aces have shot better overall throughout the season and have scored slightly more points per game than the Lynx.

The WNBA standings will also become more intriguing if the Aces can escape their home floor with a victory. Still, the over is more appealing than backing the Aces as a 6.5-point favorite.

We like the Over 166 (-110) for tonight’s intense matchup on the Las Vegas Aces schedule.
