2024 NFL Cheat Sheet: Chicago Bears Stats & Odds

Plenty of Optimism With Williams At QB For the Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams Era About to Get Underway In Chicago

Chicago was favored in just four NFL games during the 2023 NFL season but did cover in three of those matchups. Things didn’t go quite as well with the Bears listed as the underdog and went 4-9 in those games.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

The Bears finished 8-7-2 against the spread in 2023. That included a 2-1-1 mark both as a home favorite and a home underdog. The Bears covered in just four of nine games as the underdog on the road.

The Bears did show some resiliency with a 5-2-2 ATS record after a loss. When it comes to the 2024 Chicago Bears stats, the Bears hope not to have as much experience playing games after a loss.

Can rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the other newcomers help the Bears take the next step?

Bears Ready To Catch On

A year ago the Bears added receiver DJ Moore in a trade that sent the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers. As a part of that trade, the Bears got Carolina’s No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft and that ended up becoming the No. 1 selection.

The Bears wasted little time in focusing on former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams. With their own pick, Chicago selected Washington receiver Rome Odunze. Keep an eye on Williams and Odunze as both could lead the way in the 2024 Chicago Bears stats.

Joining Williams and Odunze as the new additions on offense are receiver Keenan Allen, running back D’Andre Swift, tight end Gerald Everett, and veteran offensive lineman Matt Pryor. Swift was fifth in rushing according to the NFL stats a season ago as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

When the Bears won the franchise’s only Super Bowl, one of the most dominating defenses in NFL history led the way. This time around, the success will likely be a result of the offense.

  • Super Bowl Odds: Bears Trending in the Right Direction

It might be asking a little too much for the Bears to go from finishing tied with Minnesota for third in the NFC North Division to winning the Super Bowl. However, the roster is giving long-suffering Bears fans a hope for better days.

Chicago was just 2-4 against NFC North teams and 2-7 on the road. For the Bears to go where they want to go, both of those numbers will need to change.

The Super Bowl odds for the Bears are already starting to improve. The Bears are ahead of eight NFC teams including defending NFC South champion Tampa Bay.

  • Conference Odds: Bears Ready To Make Their Move

The Bears have made the NFL playoffs just twice in the last 13 seasons but there are reasons for optimism heading into the 2024 campaign.

Chicago is eighth at +1600 in the odds of winning the NFC championship. With the Atlanta Falcons at +1200 and the Los Angeles Rams at +1400 according to the NFL odds, the Bears are very much in the playoff conversation.

Those who went with the Bears at +500 to win seven games during the regular season were loving life at season’s end. The Bears were 10th at +2500 to win the NFC in 2023. The expectations are a little higher going into the 2024 season.

  • Division Odds: More About the Team’s Division Chances

The Bears had +220 odds to finish third in the NFC North heading into the 2023 season compared to +400 odds to win the division title.

The Bears are third in the odds of winning the NFC North title for the first time since 2018.

With the Bears at +275 to win the division title and current betting favorite Detroit at +160, it is as farfetched that the Bears could make a run at the division title as it was at this time last year.

  • Regular Season Wins: Victories Available in First Couple of Months

Although the Bears will play at AFC title contender Houston in Week 2, there could be chances for the Bears to make some noise in the first half of the season.

Chicago is a 4.5-point favorite against Tennessee in the season opener. After playing Houston, things look to get a little easier with games against Indianapolis, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Carolina Panthers.

After meeting up with Trevor Lawrence and Jacksonville in London, winnable matchups with Washington, Arizona, and New England come up next. By that point, there should be a pretty good indication if the Bears can top the 8.5 regular-season win total.

  • To Make Playoffs: Williams Ready to Start Championship Chase

Williams does not lack for confidence as he has put it out there that he wants to win more Super Bowl rings than Tom Brady. It is a pretty lofty goal as the quarterback of a franchise with one playoff win in the last 17 seasons.

Anything is possible once an NFL team gets into the playoffs so that is the first step for the Bears.

With Detroit and Green Bay in the same division, there is some work to do for the Bears but a run at a playoff spot is certainly a possibility.

Based on the winning percentages during the 2023 season, only the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and the New Orleans Saints have easier schedules in 2024.

That is just one of the reasons why money will be landing the Bears to make it into the playoffs. The NFL preseason schedule begins with the Bears meeting the Houston Texans in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 1.

Side Bets

  • Matt Eberflus is tied for seventh at +1600 in the Coach of the Year odds.
  • Caleb Williams is coming in at +6000 in the NFL Most Valuable Player odds. Williams is the front-runner with +175 odds to be the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Receiver Rome Odunze is ninth at +2000.
  • When it comes to the 2024 Chicago Bears stats, Williams has even odds to lead all rookies in passing yards with Odunze seventh at +1200 to top all rookies in receiving yards.
  • There are -120 odds for Williams to either go over or under 3500.5 passing yards and the same odds to finish over or under 12.5 interceptions.
