Important Events for the Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders Roster

The Raiders have signed wide receiver Michael Gallup, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys. His ability to stretch the field and make big plays will be a valuable addition to the Raiders’ offense.

For quarterback depth, the Raiders have signed Gardner Minshew II from the Indianapolis Colts. Minshew, known for his gutsy performances and charismatic leadership, will provide a solid option under center and could push for a starting role.

The Raiders have let go of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who is headed to the LA Rams. Garoppolo’s departure marks the end of his stint with the Raiders, where he brought veteran experience and stability.

Additionally, the Raiders have also parted ways with wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. Renfrow’s departure leaves a gap in the receiving corps, but the arrival of Gallup is expected to fill that void.

Las Vegas Raiders Rivalries

The Raiders’ fierce rivalries with the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Chargers is, and always will be, a highlight. These matchups are always intense and often have NFL playoff implications, making them some of the most yearned for games on the schedule.

Overview of Las Vegas Raiders 2023 Season

The 2023 season was the Las Vegas Raiders’ 54th run in the NFL and their fourth in Sin City. It was also the last dance for head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler.

After a rough Week 8 loss to the Detroit Lions, the Raiders showed them the door. Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce stepped up as interim head coach, while Champ Kelly took on the interim GM role.

Pierce didn’t just warm the seat; he turned the tide. Under his watch, the Raiders went 5-4, earning him the full-time head coach spot by season’s end.

This season was a new era for the Raiders, who started without longtime QB Derek Carr, released in February. This NFL team improved from a 6-11 record the previous year, highlighted by a Christmas Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs. But their playoff dreams were dashed once again after a loss to the Colts.

Despite the ups and downs, the Raiders finished 8-9, landing second in their division. A bright spot? On December 14, they shattered their franchise record, scoring 63 points against the Chargers in a 63-21 blowout.
