Will Calvin Ridley Break Out With The Titans?

The Overs Make Sense After Looking At The 2024 Calvin Ridley Season Odds

It’s been a whirlwind career for Calvin Ridley. He was drafted in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons in 2018 and quickly became one of the best receivers in football.

Behind Julio Jones in Atlanta, Ridley added back-to-back seasons with 63+ catches and 820+ yards. But in 2020, Ridley really broke through, earning 90 catches for a career-best 1,374 yards.

He was poised for another big season in 2021 until he was injured and needed to step away from the team. It turns out he was sports betting and was suspended for the entire 2022 season.

When that news was released, Ridley was traded from the Falcons to the Jaguars. Jacksonville was hoping to get a rejuvenated Ridley for the 2023 season after his suspension.

And they did. Ridley added a 1,000-yard season with Jacksonville and scored eight receiving touchdowns on 76 catches in a contract year.

The Jaguars weren’t willing to spend much on Ridley after the season, but the Tennessee Titans were. The Titans inked Ridley to a four-year, $92 million deal with $46.9 million guaranteed. The contract put him into the top ten of wide receivers in terms of annual average salary at the time.

On his new team, how will Ridley fare? Let’s look at the 2024 Calvin Ridley season odds below.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Calvin Ridley Receiving Yards Yards

  • 875.5 (O/U -110/-110)

Last season, Calvin Ridley finished with 1,016 yards receiving after playing all 17 games for the Jaguars. He averaged 13.4 yards a catch and added an extended play of 59 yards with Trevor Lawrence as his quarterback.

Now he’ll have another young quarterback in Will Levis at quarterback. Ridley will be joined in the receiving room with DeAndre Hopkins and Tyler Boyd. They’ll also have Treylon Burks, who Tennessee still hopes can be a quality receiver in the NFL someday.

Ultimately, Ridley wasn’t the only addition the Titans made. Tony Pollard will start at running back after Derrick Henry left. Meanwhile, the Titans added Brian Callahan as the team’s next coach. He had previously been the offensive coordinator for the Bengals from 2019-2023 when Joe Burrow arrived.

Tennessee also announced that Nick Holz would be the new offensive coordinator. He’s familiar with Calvin Ridley as he’s coming from Jacksonville, where he was a former assistant.

Therefore, you’d have to imagine the Titans will throw more than they did in the Mike Vrabel era, especially with Henry off the team. After all, Holz was the passing-game coordinator in Jacksonville.

If Ridley stays healthy, you can expect another 1,000-yard season, but he probably won’t set any NFL records.

Calvin Ridley Receiving Touchdowns

  • 5.5 Receiving Touchdowns (O/U -110/-110)

Last season, Will Levis played in eight games and only threw eight touchdowns. He had five games without a touchdown and two with two or more touchdowns. That’s concerning when reviewing these 2024 Calvin Ridley season odds.

If you remove his sensational debut game against the Falcons, Levis would’ve had only four passing touchdowns in eight games.

But the reality is that the Titans ran the ball anytime they were close to the endzone with Derrick Henry. The entire coaching staff is different, and Levis has a full offseason as the literal starter. He’ll adapt and perform better in his sophomore season with less pressure.

In any season for Calvin Ridley, he’s added at least seven touchdowns. He had eight games last season with four or fewer targets in three games. The targets will come with Ridley being the No. 1 guy, especially in the endzone. The Titans will be favorites in many NFL spreads, proving that oddsmakers believe the offense will have some good days this year.

We’d suggest taking the Over 5.5 receiving yards with these NFL Lines.

Calvin Ridley To Win OPOY

  • OPOY: +1000

Ridley is currently +10000 to win the Offensive Player of the Year Award. He’s behind several other offensive players that are more notable with better situations. Typically, a quarterback wins the MVP and another type of offensive player wins the OPOY.

For example, last season, Lamar Jackson won the MVP and Christian McCaffrey won the OPOY Award. The MVP has gone to a quarterback every year since 2013 and has never been given to a wide receiver.

However, Justin Jefferson won the OPOY in 2022, and Cooper Kupp brought it home in 2021. Wide receivers can win this award, and if Ridley has a major breakout season, he’ll be in the running.

However, as suggested earlier, unless Will Levis turns into a top-five quarterback, it’d be hard to imagine.

Calvin Ridley Receiving Yards Leader

  • Lead The NFL In Receiving: +3000

In 2023, Tyreek Hill added 1,799 yards receiving to lead the NFL. The most receiving yards Ridley has ever had in a single season is 1,374. He’s also earned more than 1,000 yards just twice since 2018.

He’s in a new situation with the Titans, who will utilize him more. But do we really think he has the same abilities as Tyreek Hill and Justin Jefferson?

After all, he’s +3000 to lead the league in receiving behind 23 other wide receivers on the board. This wouldn’t be the first 2024 Calvin Ridley season odds, we’d bet.
