Colombia vs Panama

Day/Time:
Location: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona

Colombia vs Panama Head-to-Head:

This is the first opportunity to bet on Colombia vs Panama soccer betting odds since 2019. Colombia defeated Panama 3-0 in a friendly and Colombia have outscored the Canal Men 7-0 over the last two meetings. All-time, Colombia hold a 10-4 record in this fixture.

Colombia: James Rodriguez Resurgence

James Rodriguez’s career revival has been a sight to see. The former Real Madrid man plays his club soccer in Brazil now but he’s been excellent for the national team. James put in man of the match performances in group stage matches against Paraguay and Brazil and leads the tournament with three assists.

He helped Colombia finish in first place in the Group D Copa America standings, as they went 2-1-0. Colombia defeated Paraguay 2-1, took down Costa Rica 3-0 and drew 1-1 against Brazil. Right back Daniel Muñoz led the Cafeteros with two goals in the group stage but Jefferson Lerma picked up two yellow cards.

The Crystal Palace midfielder will miss this match as a result, while defender Jhon Lucumi is considered a doubt. Still, coach Nestor Lorenzo certainly believes Colombia can advance without them. Colombia are unbeaten under Lorenzo, with a 17-6-0 record, and last lost in February 2022. The Copa America final odds price the Cafeteros at +600 odds to win their first title since 2001.

Panama: Carrasquilla Sidelined

Panama’s tournament was in serious doubt when they fell 3-1 to Uruguay in their first match. Then, the Canal Men proceeded to win their next two matches on the Copa America 2024 schedule. In Panama’s second match, the USA went down to ten men 18 minutes in and scored just four minutes later.

Cesar Blackman equalized and Jose Fajardo scored the winner as Panama pulled off a 2-1 comeback win. However, key midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla got a red card for chopping down Christian Pulisic and making no play on the ball. Carrasquilla got a two game suspension and he’ll be able to return for the Semifinal if Panama go through.

Fajardo also scored in Panama’s 3-1 win over Bolivia, which sealed second place in Group C. Although it’s certainly an achievement for Panama to make the Quarters, they’ve been up and down in 2024. Panama are 4-4 this year but they are only one year removed from making the Gold Cup final.

Match Analysis & Odds

Colombia enter this match as 1.5-goal favorites and it’s not too difficult to see why. They’ve outscored their opponents 18-5 in 2024 and are on an 11-game scoring streak. We don’t see Colombia’s unbeaten run ending here and they currently sit at -310 moneyline odds.

Bettors can take Colombia -1.5 at -105 or Panama +1.5 at -115. Panama, who have conceded a goal in five straight games, are +880 underdogs and their run likely ends here.

Over 2.5 goals sit at -117 odds and Colombia have the ability to break down Panama’s backline. Rodriguez is one to watch for this game again and if he’s allowed time and space on the ball it’ll be a very long night for the Canal Men.

Our Colombia vs Panama soccer betting analysis shows that Panama’s only wins over top 20 teams this decade have been against the USA. Colombia are the most in-form team in the world at this point and they should have enough to reach the Semifinals, where the winner of Uruguay vs Brazil awaits.
